Dubbing Differences: Beauty and the Beast

I found the following notable changes in the Brazilian Portuguese dub of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Kind of an uneventful dub. Almost everything is translated word for word and there's not a ton of wordplay.

• Most of the “Bonjour!”s in the opening song “Belle” are undubbed.
• Belle’s name is changed to Bela, which is the Portuguese word for “beautiful.” This makes the song “Belle” slightly awkward with the leading “-a” syllable at the end of most lines.
• Belle calls Gaston primitive instead of primeval.
• Gaston: “I’ll have Bela for my wife! You can bet on my word.”
• Cogsworth’s name is Horloge, which is French for “clock.”
• Lumiere has a French accent to his Portuguese.
• Instead of “Then again, maybe not!” Lumiere says “Was that not a good idea?”
• Instead of “It’s more than I can bear,” Gaston says “It is too much for a man.”
• Gaston tells Maurice that they’ll “free [him] from this” instead of helping him out. The notion of helping him “out” meaning throwing him out of the tavern is somewhat lost.
• Not a huge change meaning-wise, but I thought it was funny that instead of saying “The wheels in my head have been turning,” Gaston says “My mind just started to function.”
• Mrs. Potts has a noticeably younger voice actress than Angela Lansbury, and at times (especially during the song “Beauty and the Beast”) her voice doesn’t suit the character at all.
• Chip’s name is Zip for some reason.
• Cogsworth’s “Suave. Genteel” line is the exact same. I guess those are French words.
• “Fine! Then go ahead and STAAARRVE!” is changed to “Great! Then you will die of hunger!” There is not nearly as much power to the line.
• “Be Our Guest” is changed to “A Vantade,” which means “Make yourself at home” or “Make yourself comfortable.” It’s very catchy and works really well with the syllables.
• Horloge says “As I always say, if it’s not Baroque, it doesn’t match!” I have no idea if this has some kind of wordplay in Portuguese, but it’s probably not as good as “if it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!”
• On the part where Belle puts a hot cloth against the Beast’s wounds, his roar of pain is undubbed, and when he says “That hurts!” his voice is much higher pitched than normal and the contrast sounds silly.
• For some reason, Beast says “Sorry” instead of “You’re welcome” when Belle thanks him for saving her life.
• “There may be something there that wasn’t there before” is changed to “We’re seeing something happen.”
• Maurice says that the Beast was at least “three meters” tall.
• Gaston: “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you had fallen for this monster.”
• Mrs. Potts’s name is Madame Samovar, a samovar being a Russian kettle.
